Both picture windows and fixed windows, as their name implies, don’t open. They allow for large windows with beautiful views and are often found mulled together in an assembly with other operating elements. The picture window has its glass set directly into the window frame, minimizing frame and maximizing glass area. The fixed window has its glass set into a sash so that its sightlines are the same as the operating elements in its vicinity.
